The 10 Minute Connection Check
Find a few minutes when neither of you is rushing. Ask one question, then let the conversation go where it needs to.
Questions to try
- What’s been good lately?
- What’s been harder than you expected?
- Is there anything you wish I understood better?
- Would you like me to listen or help you think it through?
You don’t need to ask every question. For younger kids, try asking while drawing or playing. With teens or adult children, leave room for them to decide how much to share. This works in person or on a call.
